Bond Guitars was born from over a decade of research and experimentation by designer and engineer Andrew Bond. His vision was to break free from convention — to create a guitar that redefined what was possible in sound, feel, and precision engineering.
The result was the Bond Electraglide: a revolutionary instrument built with carbon fibre and a stepped pitchboard unlike anything before it.
The design delivered absolute stability, accuracy, and playability — a radical departure from traditional wooden necks.
Each step of the pitchboard was precision-engineered to improve intonation and reduce friction, making the Electraglide extraordinarily fast and expressive to play.
Its lightweight carbon-fibre body and digital electronics placed it decades ahead of its time.
Today, Bond Guitars Limited continues that legacy — blending British innovation, modern craftsmanship, and a rebellious spirit that refuses to follow the rules.

THE ONE THAT STAYED BRITISH
In 1984, while showcasing the Bond Electraglide™ at the Frankfurt Musik Messe, Andrew Bond drew the attention of major US manufacturers — including Gibson.
According to family accounts, Gibson representatives expressed strong interest in acquiring the design and bringing production to America, with talk of it being worth around a million pounds.
Andrew thanked them, but turned the offer down. He was determined that the Electraglide would remain a British-built instrument — engineered, machined and assembled at home.
That single decision defined the Bond ethos:
innovation without compromise, built on conviction rather than convenience.
